Jan Hendrik Ellis (born January 5, 1942 in Brakpan, Gauteng, South Africa) is a South African former rugby union rugby player, who played flanker. He played 38 times for the Springboks, which at that time was a record.
Ellis played in his first Test for the Springboks on July 31, 1965 against New Zealand. He played his last test against the same team on July 24, 1976.
Ellis also played in the Presidents XV on March 31, 1973 against Scotland.
